Attendance Rate
Attendance is calculated as a percentage based on the attended minutes of each lecture versus the total lecture duration. Clicking on the attendance rate opens detailed attendance records:
Lecture Date: The date of the lecture.
Status:
Attended: The student attended the lecture.
Absence: The student did not attend the lecture.
Upcoming: The lecture date is in the future.
Missed: The student registered for the course after this lecture date.
No Show: The instructor did not attend the session.
DM (Delivery Mode): Indicates whether the lecture was LIVE, Face to Face, or Recorded.
SAD / IAD (Student Attendance Duration / Instructor Duration): Editable in case of live or face-to-face lectures.
LIVE Lectures: Attendance is automatically recorded by comparing the student's attendance duration against the instructor's attendance duration. If the instructor did not attend, the system does not record student attendance. If attendance is captured, the instructor can amend the SAD if technical issues arise.
Recorded Lectures: Marked as "Attended" as soon as the student clicks on the lecture tab. However, it does not track whether the student watched the entire lecture.
Face-to-face lectures: Instructors can edit attendance manually. If no action is taken within 24 hours of the lecture start time, the system will automatically mark all students as "Attended" and notify the instructor to make any necessary changes.
As per TRAIVIS's Student Attendance policy, we emphasises the importance of regular attendance as a critical factor in achieving educational success. Students are expected to attend at least 85% of the course content to be eligible for graduation from the course. However, the final decision regarding a studentβs successful completion of the course rests with the instructor. Instructors have the discretion to pass students who do not meet the 85% attendance requirement, based on their overall assessment of the student's performance and participation.
For more details, please refer to theTRAIVIS Attendance Policy to learn more about the expectations and guidelines for both students and instructors.
