Sending and Receiving Connection Requests
Connect with Your Peers: A Step-by-Step Guide Learn how to connect with fellow students on TRAIVIS. Follow these simple steps to send and accept connection requests.
Connection Process:
Sign in to your account.
Use the search bar or browse through the enrolled students in any course to find who you want to connect with.
Click on the student's profile to see their details and activity.
On their profile page, find the option to send a connection request, labelled "Connect". Click it to send your request.
After sending the request, the student will get a notification. They can accept or decline it.
If they accept, you'll receive a confirmation notification. If they decline, you will not receive a notification of their decision.
Once connected, engage with them through messaging.
Managing Connections
When another student sends you a connection request, you'll receive a notification. This notification will appear in your notification centre on the Navbar at the top.
Click on the notification, or navigate to your profile, click on the three dots next to your name and select connections to access the pending connection tab.
Once you're in the connection requests section, you'll see the pending request from the student who wants to connect with you. Take a moment to review their profile and activity on the platform.
If you're interested in connecting with the student, select the option to accept the request. This is represented by a button like "Accept". Once accepted, you and the other student will be connected on the platform.
If you prefer not to connect with the student, select the option to decline the request.
If you choose to terminate the connection or block a student after establishing it, please proceed to your connections list. Locate the student's profile within this list. Click on the three dots adjacent to the student's profile and select either "Disconnect" or "Block User." Blocking a user will prevent them from viewing your profile or interacting with your content. On the other hand, disconnecting will permit the user to access your profile and engage with your content as a guest (publicly).
Should a personal account be blocked by another user, that account will lose the ability to view or interact with the blocking user's social content. However, any interactions that took place prior to the blocking, such as likes, dislikes, and comments, will remain visible; the user will simply be unable to continue their engagement. It is important to note that blocking a personal account will not impact their business/ instructor account's ability to engage with your content. Disconnecting or blocking a connection is a personal decision aimed at maintaining your comfort and safety on the platform. Use this feature to manage your connections and interactions in a way that aligns with your preferences and needs.
